Energy and Sustainability

Sustainability to Havencab is about making sure the social, economic and environmental needs of our community are met and are there for future generations.  We have been at the forefront in developing procedures or adopting systems that help achieve this outcome for both our business and clients.  We can increase sustainability in your building by simple things such as better recycling systems, using contractors that recycle waste or turn waste into energy, energy efficiency and sensor lighting, reduced water consumption, solar power and introducing monitoring systems that optimize efficiencies for large plant and equipment.

Energy Efficiency is one of the simplest and key ways in which we can increase the sustainability of buildings by achieving maximum benefit from the electricity we use while minimising its consumption. The added benefit of this is there is a direct relationship between energy efficiency and lower running costs, offsetting electricity price rises of up to 94% as will be experienced by some parts of New South Wales over the period between 2009 and 2013.

The first step in improving energy efficiency is to undertake an energy audit to identify opportunities for improvement. Havencab has assisted many of our existing clients identify annual electricity cost savings of up to 35%.  Recent examples include:
