Our organisation is very serious about employee safety. Our OHS Reference Manual ensures all legislative requirements have been documented and implemented on each site. Our supervisors and OHS Manager have all completed relevant WorkCover accredited courses. Havencab has also completed and implemented all stages of the “Premium Discount Scheme”, a scheme that was introduced by WorkCover and is audited yearly for total OHS compliance.
All worksites are assessed for risk prior to commencement, with hazards identified and Safe Method Work statements produced. A site hazard control plan is developed, with all emergency, fire procedures, bomb threats, suspicious packages and emergency assembly points identified. Employees are trained on machinery, chemicals and must understand all Material Safety Data Sheets and hazardous substances. All electrical equipment is tagged six monthly and site safety meetings are held regularly. An open line of communication with monthly newsletters and constant supervision ensures all injury reporting and relevant investigations are carried out if an incident occurs which is then analysed and documented. Our rehabilitation providers have been identified and our Return to Work coordinator ensures injured workers are rehabilitated and return to work as soon as possible.
With these documented procedures and total commitment from senior management we boast an impeccable record of only four injuries resulting in lost time in 18years in business.
