Finger Wharf gala anniversary a huge fundraising success
Celebrities and guests gathered in Sydney on the first Saturday in November for a fun and unique way to not only celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the historic Finger Wharf, Woolloomooloo site but also to raise funds for The Centre for Volunteering. Stars such as Matt Preston and Paula Duncan entertained us and helped make the event such a success.
A magnificent dinner was provided by world-class chefs from Otto, Mantra, China Doll and Kingsley’s.
Superb food, along with a spectacular venue, the largest timbered-piled building in the world – Woolloomooloo’s Finger Wharf, made for a great night.
The gala was launched by The Centre for Volunteering Awards Program Ambassador Paula Duncan A.M. The Centre for Volunteering is the peak body for volunteering in NSW. Now in its eighth year, their state-wide Awards Program recognises and thanks volunteers in NSW who generously give more than 235 million work hours each year and contribute an extraordinary $5 billion to the State’s economy. The Havencab Group wholeheartedly supports the volunteering community.
So that’s why we were so proud to be invited to join with many others who kindly donated expensive and exclusive ticket items for the cause and who also rolled up their sleeves and bid fiercely at auction time to benefit NSW volunteers.
National FM Pty Ltd, part of The Havencab Group, provides facilities management services for the very special needs of the Finger Wharf complex. National FM’s Yuval Fenton, the Senior Facilities Manager, manager Aditi Mohan, and their team take great pride in the care and maintenance of such an historically important Australian icon. National FM was the first company in Australia to introduce an aqueous ozone cleaning system by Tersano which is a 100% toxin free and provides effective, innovative & sustainable cleaning & sanitising. Yuval and his team constantly provide excellence in the care of the Finger Wharf building, but they also went above and beyond what was expected to help pull off and successfully run the glamorous celebration.
The following thank you from Paula Duncan and her team is indicative of the work that they put in to make the charity event a success.
